Why you should listen

A gifted but hard-working athlete, Smith is known as much for his humble, self-effacing attitude as he is for playing on the basketball court. His discipline and competitive style of play on and off the court is what makes him stand out from other athletes. Smith has been profiled by Nike and the Toronto Raptors, featured in the We The North Campaign. He appeared in international television commercials and starred in numerous documentary films, including the 6 part series Heart of the city rise-up done by Nike and Ballislife.

Smith received an athletic scholarship to The University of Tennessee at Martin, where he double-majored in bachelor of science and human health and in business, after school smith became the first in his family to play professional basketball overseas. 

During his playing career smith founded in 2008 a brand called Varna Lifestle Canada, which gives back to the community through a variety of outreach programs and donations. The mission of the brand is to positively impact the lives of those living in under-served communities through 4 key focus areas – , social development, anti violence,  recreation & community outreach. We support programs & services that empower & inspire the less fortunate to transcend their circumstances.

To this day, he maintains his simple existence, living in Toronto with his family.
